Hello!

This time I have to write about the gender role in the health care, and I going to start saying that in my career like midwife, is very common see that men have more opportunities in the professional field that women.

The differences arise because in our area, especially in Nursing and Midwifering, men are more practical than women, and they are more quoted for this reason.

If we talk about the responsibilities, I think that both has the same, but is very common see that the majority of men are Health Center`s Director while the women does to be bosses in lower ranges, like Obstetric`s department bosses for example, and this is a consequence of the chauvinist, due to in the society it believe that men are more able.

Talking about the salaries, I know that men gain more money that women and I do not know the reason, but I have an idea of this difference. This can be because men assume the heaviest task in a hospital; they alone can move a patient, move a stretcher, sometimes they have more care in attention of the patients, between other.

About the kind of patients, in our career particularly, we care a women and work for them, so our advantage like women is that we know them better than anybody and we have more facilities to create the necessary confidence between doctor and patient.

In general, I believe that both genders have the same professional development, always and when we are competent.
